## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert on indirect tax, compliance, and accounting-profession product requirements.
- Translate practitioner workflows, customer pain points, tax scenarios, edge cases, and unmet needs into clear, actionable product requirements.
- Connect Product, Engineering, Sales, Partnerships, and Marketing by bringing practitioner-level credibility to enterprise and emerging-vertical conversations.
- Represent users and partners in product planning and help align tool development with go-to-market execution.
- Drive market development for accounting-facing and enterprise solutions by identifying customer segments, market opportunities, and expansion areas.
- Support strategic partners, enterprise prospects, and complex evaluations with accounting and indirect tax expertise.
- Support strategic sales opportunities, including enterprise and new-vertical deals, through solution selling.
- Represent the company at industry and accounting events, gather field requirements, build market presence, and participate in public speaking.
- Contribute to broader strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

## Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in accounting or indirect tax advisory, ideally including product requirements definition or tax-solution implementation.
- Experience as a practicing accountant or indirect tax advisor, with firsthand knowledge of sales tax, VAT, GST, or multijurisdiction compliance.
- Experience translating practitioner workflows into product requirements or tools at a technology or SaaS company.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn market and practitioner insights into clear, buildable requirements.
- Ability to serve as a strategic technical resource in sales and partner conversations.
- Excellent communication skills, including explaining complex indirect tax concepts to practitioners and cross-functional teams.
- Strategic mindset, hands-on approach, self-starter mentality, and high ownership of ambiguous initiatives.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience at an accounting or advisory firm, including Big Four, regional, or boutique firms, specializing in indirect tax.
- Experience as a product manager, business analyst, or requirements lead building tools for accountants or finance professionals.
- Familiarity with indirect tax regimes across multiple jurisdictions, including U.S. sales and use tax, VAT, and GST.
- Experience supporting enterprise or strategic sales cycles outside the accounting channel, such as in-house tax or finance teams, marketplaces, or regulated verticals.
