## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Propose and implement scalable systems for sophisticated customers.
- Partner with stakeholders to take ambiguous problems from ideation through enterprise-ready delivery.
- Own the full development lifecycle, from customer conversations through post-release monitoring.
- Set technical direction across projects.
- Mentor engineers and raise the team's engineering standards.

## Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong focus on performance, reliability, and robust systems design.
- Empathy for compensation teams and understanding of the challenges involved in pricing employee pay.
- Strong judgment when operating in ambiguous situations and weighing tradeoffs.
- Ability to break complex problems into concrete milestones with clear success metrics and drive them to completion with minimal oversight.
- Ability to influence design decisions, mentor engineers, and communicate reasoning clearly.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and ship thoughtful solutions without over-engineering.
