## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Assess the credit quality and repayment ability of business credit card customers.
- Review bank statements and financial statements to underwrite customers.
- Handle intermediate-level underwriting escalations involving deeper investigation into applicant financials and edge cases.
- Review underwriting processes and recommend improvements aligned with organizational goals.
- Track and communicate underwriting metrics, including approval rates, turnaround time, and loss rates.
- Build relationships with partners across Risk, Sales, Engineering, and Product to advance underwriting initiatives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, execute with precision, and mentor team members.
- Share knowledge through documentation, collaboration, and team learning.

## Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- 1+ year of experience in underwriting, credit risk, financial analysis, or a related field.
- Interest in credit and underwriting decisions for commercial exposures across businesses of varying sizes.
- Understanding of GAAP/IFRS accounting standards and bank/financial statement analysis.
- Familiarity with quantitative credit risk models, probability of default, and loss given default concepts.
- Proficiency with Google Sheets, Excel, and Hex or similar BI tools.
- Familiarity with underwriting and credit tooling used to investigate and resolve escalations.
- Strong analytical rigor, attention to detail, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Customer-centric approach with the ability to balance customer needs and risk exposure.
- Ability to communicate technical problems clearly and tactfully.

## Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with banking regulations and global markets.
- Experience in fintech, Big Four, accounting, or other financial services environments.

## Compensation
- Expected salary range: $74,128–$92,660 USD.
- Equity and other compensation may be included depending on the position offered.
