## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own the integrity of accounting and develop a clear, timely understanding of company revenues and expenditures.
- Build and scale financial systems and the accounting operating foundation for a high-growth AI company.
- Redesign workflows across the monthly close, reconciliations, spend monitoring, reporting, and other core accounting processes using an AI-forward approach.
- Determine where AI can perform work, where human review is required, and how systems remain explainable and auditable.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to apply AI to internal accounting workflows and provide practitioner insight into accounting problems.
- Establish scalable processes for accounts payable, procurement, expense management, purchasing approvals, vendor commitments, and spend reporting.
- Explain financial changes, their underlying causes, and recommended business actions.
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting; spend visibility; cost controls; revenue integrity; and audit and compliance readiness.

## Requirements
- 6–12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including meaningful ownership of accounting operations at a high-growth company.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge covering financial reporting, revenue recognition, accruals, capitalization, equity, and related areas.
- Systems mindset with the ability to design workflows, reliable data processes, controls, and scalable operating rhythms.
- Willingness to implement systems, review details, and perform hands-on accounting work when needed.
- Strong analytical judgment.
- Ability to partner with technical and nontechnical teams, including Engineering, Product, Sales, People, and company leadership.
- Ability to work in person five days per week from the Flatiron office in New York City.

## Nice-to-Haves
- Experience evolving an accounting organization from founder-led or highly manual processes into a scalable, controlled function.
- Experience managing or analyzing cloud, compute, model, data, infrastructure, or other variable technology costs.
- Experience building procurement, approval, vendor-management, cost-allocation, or expense systems from scratch.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $200,000–$250,000 annually.
