## Job Description

## Key Responsibilities
- Directly manage a team of 5 other engineers, including weekly 1:1s, performance reviews, coaching/mentorship, and strategic prioritization
- Mentor up and coming engineers
- Participate and contribute to the Code Review process
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Lead team syncs, retrospectives and other team-based ceremonies
- Conduct technical interviews with candidates to help build the Prompt Team
- Design, implement, and manage infrastructure for our cloud-based platforms (**AWS**)
- Create and automate deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools (**Gitlab** / **Github Actions**)
- Build, maintain, and scale containerized applications with **Docker** and **ECS/Fargate**
- Ensure system scalability, availability, and reliability through proactive monitoring and automation
- Troubleshoot issues in both production and development environments
- Work closely with development teams to enhance performance, security, and maintainability
- Manage and optimize infrastructure as code

## Qualifications
- Experience managing people and projects
- **5+ years** of experience in a DevOps or related role
- Expert knowledge of cloud platforms such as **AWS**, **GCP**, or **Azure**
- Strong experience with containerization technologies (**Docker**, **ECS** / **Kubernetes**)
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and management
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools (**Datadog**, **Prometheus**, **Grafana**)
- Expertise in scripting languages (**Bash**, **Python**, **Go**, etc.)
- Proficient with infrastructure automation tools (**Terraform**, **Ansible**, **CloudFormation**)
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and optimize performance
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
- **Bachelor’s degree** in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

## Preferred Skills
- Experience with database management (**SQL/NoSQL**)
- Experience with **PHP**
- Knowledge of security best practices and securing cloud environments
- Previous experience with agile methodologies and working in fast-paced environments
