## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain end-to-end reconciliation and reporting solutions, including matching logic, break dashboards, exception queues, settlement summaries, and standardized journals.
- Own daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across card networks, banks, processors, acquirers, and internal transaction and ledger data.
- Manage discrepancies from detection through root-cause analysis, corrective action, and control improvement.
- Define and implement domain metrics such as match rates, break aging, time to resolution, funding compliance, and reporting SLAs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on settlement, funding, money movement, transaction lifecycles, data models, and reconciliation technology.
- Build and document automated SQL reporting and navigate unfamiliar datasets to answer complex questions about fund flows.
- Partner with data engineering to design, build, validate, troubleshoot, and maintain datasets and pipelines.
- Identify control gaps, revenue leakage, manual toil, and data-quality issues; drive automation and process improvements.
- Manage stakeholder relationships across Engineering, Product, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, and Compliance.
- Support month-end close, audits, system-change requirements, test plans, process validation, bug resolution, and feature delivery.
- Mentor analysts, review code, and promote reconciliation and reporting best practices.
- Apply responsible AI tools and practices to improve analytical work.

## Requirements
- 5+ years of related experience in reconciliation, settlement, payment operations, accounting, or finance analytics with a bachelor's degree; or 3+ years with a master's degree; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Expert-level SQL and experience designing, developing, and documenting automated SQL reporting.
- Experience independently owning reconciliation, settlement, or financial reporting workstreams end to end.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry accounting, and money movement.
- Experience designing, building, validating, and maintaining data pipelines, either independently or with data engineering partners.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas and pivot tables.
- Experience with reconciliation tools and banking portals.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management, presentation, and process-improvement skills.

## Preferred Experience
- Card-network reconciliation and settlement experience, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover clearing and settlement files.
- Familiarity with ACH, wire, SWIFT, RTP, FedNow, merchants, acquirers, issuers, processors, and program banks.
- Python or similar scripting experience.
- Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Looker, or Tableau and governed reporting layers.
- Experience with interchange and fee reconciliation, revenue-leakage detection, tax or regulatory reporting, audits, internal controls, SOX-adjacent processes, or analyst mentoring.
