## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, validate requirements, and map customer infrastructure to Cloudflare architectures.
- Define Proof of Concept and technical validation plans, success criteria, and deployment strategies.
- Deliver technical presentations, architectural diagrams, demonstrations, and responses to technical or security objections.
- Oversee technical onboarding and implementation while serving as the primary engineering and executive customer contact.
- Design migration and onboarding blueprints, including DNS migrations, Zero Trust rollouts, and WAF tuning guidance.
- Monitor customer health, telemetry, integration bottlenecks, and deployment risks to accelerate time-to-value.
- Carry variable quota responsibility for new business and account expansion; identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
- Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews and communicate platform value and return on investment to executives.
- Advise customers on architecture, AI control layers, security posture, and deployment confidence throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Use AI agents, LLMs, and internal platforms to automate RFP responses, security questionnaires, sandbox provisioning, telemetry monitoring, and documentation.
- Create and govern technical enablement resources, standard operating procedures, architectural guidance, and technical training.

## Requirements
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineering, customer engineering, professional services, sales engineering, technical account management, or forward-deployed engineering.
- Ability to design and clearly explain complex enterprise network and security architectures.
- Excellent communication, presentation, consultative, advisory, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience in quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environments, SaaS metrics, business-value translation, and enterprise sales cycles.
- Depth in at least four of the following areas:
  - Internet fundamentals, including OSI layers 1–7, BGP, GRE, TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
  - Internet security, including WAF, Bot Management, firewalls, rate limiting, mutual TLS, Zero Trust, and SASE.
  - Internet performance, including latency, caching, video streaming, HTTP/2, and TLS 1.3.
  - Prompt engineering, AI-assisted scripting and log analysis, LLMs, and workflow automation.
  - Python, JavaScript, Bash, Lua, Go, or similar scripting languages.
  - RESTful or GraphQL APIs, SDKs, webhooks, cloud-native developer tooling, Terraform or Pulumi, CI/CD, and observability.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience creating technical enablement workshops, code samples, documentation, or developer onboarding programs.
- Knowledge of LLM orchestration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures, and model-access controls.
- Understanding of PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
- Background in hyperscalers, digital-native companies, distributed systems environments, or startups.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary with variable compensation tied to new business acquisition, adoption milestones, and account expansion.
- Travel of approximately 20–50% may be required.
