## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Develop energy deployment strategies, including grid-connected and behind-the-meter solutions, to accelerate energization timelines while maintaining social license.
- Lead energy procurement and markets strategy for multi-hundred-megawatt capacity across EU wholesale electricity markets and national capacity mechanisms.
- Structure utility partnerships and commercial agreements that prioritize speed to energization and scale.
- Manage relationships with TSOs, DSOs, national regulators, ACER, policymakers, and critical equipment vendors across European jurisdictions.
- Drive energy markets and policy strategy for AI compute facilities, monitoring EU and national grid regulations and addressing grid-capacity constraints.
- Partner with engineering and delivery teams to align capacity procurement with project timelines.
- Develop market intelligence on power availability, transmission constraints, and connection queues to inform site selection and deployment.
- Structure PPAs, network-use-of-system arrangements, and behind-the-meter solutions to mitigate grid-capacity risks.

## Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in energy procurement, utility development, or power markets for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Deep expertise in EU electricity markets, including day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets; national capacity mechanisms; network connections; and transmission planning.
- Experience securing 100+ MW of power capacity and navigating European network connection agreements, PPAs, or other offtake structures.
- Proficiency analyzing energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and grid constraints.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, including translating complex grid and regulatory topics into actionable strategies.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.

## Nice-to-haves
- Energy procurement experience for data centers, high-performance computing, or AI/ML infrastructure.
- Familiarity with hyperscale infrastructure and large-scale AI training and inference power demands.
- Experience with regulatory affairs, energy-policy advocacy, and engagement with European energy institutions.
- Background in transmission planning, grid-connection studies, grid-code compliance, or grid-capacity analysis.
- Understanding of battery energy storage systems, demand response, virtual power plants, and distributed energy resources.
- Track record of overcoming grid constraints and compressed timelines in competitive European power markets.
