## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Scope and lead large technical projects that form foundational pillars for financial data management infrastructure.
- Scrutinize and reason about technology and architecture choices for these products, serving as the decision-maker when needed.
- Contribute directly to core interface design and write code, modeling high-quality software engineering practices.
- Arbitrate critical decisions while considering software best practices, system realities, and stakeholder concerns.
- Advise leadership on technical considerations related to the future of financial data management, including blockchain technologies.
- Teach and mentor the next generation of technical leaders.

## Requirements
- 12+ years of experience with system architecture and designing distributed systems that handle large amounts of data.
- Experience serving as a Staff, Principal, or Distinguished Engineer.
- Deep experience building custom solutions with big data and streaming technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Presto, Iceberg, and Airflow.
- Hands-on experience building products based on modern microservices architectures.
- Experience serving as the technical lead for an engineering team and demonstrating broad technical leadership.
- Experience owning the technical roadmap for a business area.
- Ability to internalize ideas from across an organization while setting an inspiring technical vision.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and inspire engineers at all levels.

## Nice to Have
- Domain expertise in accounting or financial management.
