> Own end-to-end product design for Patch's environmental commodities platform, collaborating with engineering and climate strategists on AI-assisted interfaces and complex operational workflows. Requires code fluency, AI-native design practices, and experience with information-dense enterprise tools.

## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own the design of customer-facing and internal product surfaces across Patch's platform, from environmental commodity research workflows to portfolio dashboards to transaction infrastructure
- Ship code and prototype in production; validate ideas without waiting for engineers
- Embed with climate strategists and customers to observe real workflows and identify platform capabilities
- Act as DRI on design initiatives from scoping through delivery
- Design interfaces where AI does material work, making contributions visible, trustworthy, and useful
- Mature Patch's design language and component system

## What Success Looks Like
- First 90 days: Ship meaningful design improvements, build relationships with strategists and customers, establish rhythm with engineering, identify highest-leverage design problems
- 6 months: Own design direction for a major product area, deliver at least one 0-to-1 product surface, measurably improve productivity or experience

## Requirements
- Product ownership: Define problems, design solutions, and ship without waiting for a brief
- Code fluency: Commit production code, prototype and build in a codebase (not just Figma)
- AI-native workflow: Use AI tools daily for generative design, AI-assisted prototyping, and AI coding
- Systems thinking: Design interfaces for complex domains (markets, transactions, inventory) that clarify structure
- Operational design: Experience with information-dense, workflow-heavy tools (fintech, enterprise, data platforms)
- Collaborative accountability: Direct communication, strong opinions loosely held, preference for being a DRI
- Comfort with ambiguity: Excited by rapidly evolving domains and markets

## Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $170,000–$230,000 annually
- Equity: Meaningful stock options
- Culture: Mission-driven team in San Francisco with bi-annual offsites
- Time off: Time-off-as-needed vacation and generous parental leave
- Wellness: Monthly stipend for mental and physical health
