## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead major initiatives and own a large area of Shepherd’s product experience across data collection, automated underwriting, and policy administration.
- Drive technical decisions and contribute to product strategy and architectural decisions.
- Work across the stack and collaborate across disciplines, including underwriting, design, and product management.
- Take end-to-end ownership of features and systems from conception through release.
- Balance innovation with pragmatic delivery while shipping high-quality products.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to the company’s engineering culture.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

## Requirements
- At least **8 years of professional experience**, preferably as a full-stack engineer.
- Experience delivering high-impact products.
- Experience with **JavaScript** or **TypeScript** on the backend and/or frontend.
- Experience working with insurance, such as in an InsurTech or actuarial role.
- Comfort with ambiguity, ownership, and cross-functional problem-solving.
