The role builds scalable governance, controls, metrics, and operational infrastructure while partnering with product, engineering, compliance, legal, banks, regulators, and auditors.

## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own Risk & Money Services end to end, including fraud and payment-risk decisioning, BSA/AML operational response, Reg E dispute operations, collections, and the operational backbone of money products.
- Lead a multidisciplinary regulated financial-services organization through senior leaders; hire, develop, and scale the organization.
- Establish governance, metrics, SLAs, reporting, controls documentation, audit readiness, workforce management, and escalation frameworks.
- Oversee high-stakes real-time decisions involving payroll release, provisional credits, fraud signals, and fund recovery.
- Own the operational Reg E program, including intake, investigation, provisional credit, resolution, and customer communications.
- Lead customer-facing operational responses to BSA/AML alerts, including transaction-monitoring response, customer outreach, and account actions.
- Build operational infrastructure, SOPs, workforce models, controls, and SLAs for Gusto Wallet, Cash Advance, and future consumer financial products.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Risk, shared services, and AI teams to improve operations and ensure regulatory readiness.
- Drive responsible AI and automation adoption in fraud decisioning, dispute processing, and risk-signal analysis.
- Represent the function with sponsor banks, regulators, and auditors.
- Establish the operating playbook for new financial products and money services.

## Requirements
- Seasoned financial-services operator and regulated-domain leader.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary, customer-facing operations in a regulated financial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale organizations through senior leaders.
- Experience with fraud operations, payment risk, BSA/AML operations, Reg E disputes, collections, and consumer money products.
- Ability to establish controls, governance, metrics, SLAs, audit readiness, and operational reporting.
- Strong cross-functional partnership skills across Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering, Risk, sponsor banks, regulators, and auditors.
- Ability to make and oversee high-stakes financial and regulatory decisions in real time.
- Ability to build operational infrastructure for new financial products while maintaining customer protection and regulatory integrity.

## Nice to have
- Experience with AI agents, automation, and semantic knowledge systems in regulated financial operations.
- Experience with payroll, banking, money movement, consumer financial products, or sponsor-bank relationships.
