## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Advise customers and solve complex MongoDB problems across the database server, drivers, cloud, and infrastructure ecosystem.
- Support MongoDB Atlas and Cloud Manager, including automation, backup, and monitoring.
- Work with major customers to resolve architecture, performance, recovery, security, availability, and scalability challenges.
- Provide best-practice guidance for running MongoDB at scale.
- Advocate for customer needs with product management and development teams.
- Contribute to internal projects, including software development of support tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics.
- Analyze issues holistically from the application tier through the database to storage.
- Handle technical escalations independently and contribute to advanced diagnostics.

## Requirements
- **6+ years of experience.**
- Systems engineering experience, including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, storage, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including DNS, TCP/IP, and SSL/TLS.
- Broad awareness of customer workloads and use cases involving performance, availability, and scalability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, with a genuine desire to help people.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, solve problems in real time, learn new technical skills quickly, and collaborate effectively.

## Nice to Have
- Familiarity with modern AI concepts and AI-assisted troubleshooting tools.
- Experience with one or more of Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Node.js, Go, PHP, or Perl.

## Training and Development
- Complete new-hire training within the first three months.
- Complete the MongoDB Certified DBA Associate exam within six months.
- Develop expertise within the MongoDB ecosystem and participate in a technical experts group within 12 months.
