## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Partner with enterprise, commercial, and mid-market sales teams, customer success, and professional services to close deals quickly on risk-balanced terms.
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and intellectual property licenses, including SaaS, partnership, professional services, and vendor agreements.
- Build and continuously improve contract templates, playbooks, and other resources to make deals faster and more consistent.
- Track legal operational and business metrics, including the impact of AI tools and workflows.
- Advise internal clients and leadership on legal matters involving growth and innovation.
- Support product, marketing, community relations, and similar teams as needed.
- Use AI tools and workflows to accelerate drafting and negotiation while developing scalable team processes.
- Mentor junior members of the Legal Team.

## Requirements
- JD or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
- License to practice in an applicable jurisdiction.
- At least 8 years of relevant legal experience.
- Extensive experience with commercial agreements and intellectual property licenses.
- Strong knowledge of commercial law, IP law, data protection regulations, and other regulatory requirements.
- Ability to build trusted strategic-advisor relationships and translate complex issues into practical guidance.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive resolution of open issues.
- Demonstrated AI fluency, including building an AI tool, workflow, or process that measurably improved speed or scale.
- Willingness to operate as an individual contributor in a high-growth environment.

## Nice to Have
- Law firm and in-house experience.
- Experience at a company active in open source.
- Knowledge of or curiosity about the technology powering data science, machine learning, and AI products.
- Proactive approach to stretch projects and supporting teammates.

- Base salary: **$165,000–$220,000**.
