## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject-matter expert on actuarial and calculation logic for illustrations and policy administration.
- Translate life insurance and annuity product specifications into implementable system logic, including crediting mechanisms, rider mechanics and charges, benefit base calculations, surrender charge schedules, and other product features.
- Use AI tools to prototype, code, and test calculation logic.
- Support migrations of legacy in-force blocks to Bestow’s platform, ensuring original calculation logic is accurately carried forward.
- Validate that system behavior reflects product intent and resolve discrepancies between actuarial specifications and implementation.
- Support User Acceptance Testing for product implementations and platform enhancements.
- Document product calculation methodologies, business rules, and implementation decisions.
- Partner with carrier and vendor implementation teams to onboard products and features.

## Requirements
- 8+ years of life insurance industry experience; annuity experience is strongly preferred.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience building pricing models or implementing illustration and policy administration systems at a carrier, vendor, or insurtech.
- Deep knowledge of life and annuity products, including IUL, VUL, FIA, and complex riders, calculations, and transactions in illustration and policy administration systems.
- Experience connecting actuarial calculations to policy administration workflows and downstream usage.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create clear documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfort building processes and making judgment calls in a fast-moving environment.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience with agentic coding tools and workflows.
- Experience supporting policy migrations or legacy block conversions, including data reconciliation, legacy calculation validation, and source-to-target testing.
- Actuarial credentials such as ASA or FSA, or equivalent technical depth in life insurance product mathematics.
