## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor, leading discovery and designing Cloudflare One architectures for customer security, connectivity, and business requirements.
- Guide opportunities through solution design, demonstrations, technical evaluations, proofs of value, success-criteria management, and technical close.
- Advise customers on Zero Trust strategies covering identity-aware access, secure web gateway, data protection, SaaS security, browser isolation, device posture, and secure connectivity.
- Design WAN transformation solutions connecting users, offices, data centers, and cloud environments.
- Develop expertise in AI-era opportunities and risks, including Shadow AI, sensitive-data exposure, AI application access, MCP server controls, and agentic AI governance.
- Use AI tools to improve research, customer preparation, technical analysis, demonstrations, automation, and repeatability.
- Articulate technical and business differentiation against competing security, networking, and AI-security solutions.
- Partner with sales teams on account strategy, pipeline development, and revenue goals.
- Create reusable architectures, demonstrations, proof-of-value patterns, technical guidance, and automation; coach peers and partners.
- Capture customer feedback and product gaps for Product and Engineering.
- Coordinate with Sales, Support, Product, Engineering, and customers to resolve technical issues.
- Own presales evaluation outcomes through technical close and coordinate handoff to post-sale teams.

## Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Systems Engineering, technical sales, consulting, or enterprise architecture.
- Customer-facing experience designing, demonstrating, evaluating, or implementing Zero Trust solutions.
- Practical understanding of Zero Trust and SASE architectures, including identity, endpoint, network, application, data, and SaaS security.
- Enterprise networking and WAN experience, including routing, subnetting, VPNs, SD-WAN, hybrid connectivity, cloud networking, or network transformation.
- Active professional use of AI tools and understanding of AI platforms, AI-enabled threats, data exposure, and governance.
- Experience integrating enterprise security solutions with identity providers, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, public clouds, APIs, or SIEM/log analytics platforms.
- Experience owning technical evaluations or proofs of value from discovery through technical close.
- Strong writing, presentation, and demonstration skills for practitioner, architect, and executive audiences.
- Ability to collaborate across Sales, Product, Engineering, Support, partners, and customer teams.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Cloudflare One capabilities, including Access, Gateway, Cloudflare One Client, Browser Isolation, CASB, DLP, Email Security, Cloudflare Tunnel, or Cloudflare WAN.
- Experience displacing, integrating, or migrating from secure web gateways, VPN/ZTNA, secure email gateways, MPLS, or SD-WAN solutions.
- Email Security experience involving Microsoft 365, Exchange, Google Workspace, SMTP, mail flow, SPF, DKIM, or DMARC.
- Advanced networking experience with BGP, IPsec, GRE, network firewalls, hybrid or multi-cloud networking, or WAN transformation.
- AI security or governance experience, including Shadow AI, generative-AI controls, AI data-loss risks, MCP, or agentic systems.
- Scripting, API, or automation experience.
- Experience enabling channel partners, distributors, managed service providers, or systems integrators.
- Relevant security, networking, cloud, or AI certifications or equivalent expertise.

## Compensation
- For San Francisco, San Jose, and Bay Area Metro hires: estimated annual salary of $244,000–$336,000.
- For the listed Boston, California Remote, Connecticut Remote, DC Metro, Massachusetts Remote, New Jersey Remote, New York Metro, Washington, Kirkland, and Washington D.C. locations: estimated annual salary of $234,000–$321,000.
- For the listed Colorado Remote, Illinois Remote, Maryland Remote, Minnesota Remote, Nevada Remote, New York Remote, Rhode Island Remote, and Vermont Remote locations: estimated annual base salary of $163,240–$224,840, plus estimated variable compensation of $48,760–$67,160.
- Eligible for incentive compensation under the Sales Compensation Plan and participation in the equity plan.
