## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of Postgres engineers through mentorship, feedback, hiring, and technical guidance.
- Drive product initiatives from ideation through launch while balancing speed, reliability, and quality.
- Partner with Product, Design, Infrastructure, customers, and internal stakeholders to translate user needs into technical solutions, roadmaps, and impactful features.
- Guide system design, architectural decisions, and engineering tradeoffs.
- Foster ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and effective engineering practices.
- Break complex problems into incremental milestones that deliver value while supporting long-term platform evolution.
- Ensure the team understands developer experience and customer impact.

## Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as an engineer shipping products or features with downstream business and ecosystem impact.
- 2+ years of experience managing people and developing engineers, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management.
- Strong technical background in system design, architecture, and engineering tradeoffs.
- Experience building stateful services, ideally.
- Product-oriented mindset with experience translating business goals and user needs into engineering roadmaps and shipped features.
- Ability to balance urgency with thoughtful execution and maintain high quality.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong ownership and accountability for team outcomes and long-term system health.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience building developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, or developer tools.
- Experience with highly scalable distributed systems or infrastructure platforms.
- Experience improving engineering velocity through tooling, processes, or team practices.
- Experience building products used directly by developers or technical users.
- Track record of collaborating with product, marketing, and customer support teams to drive adoption and retention.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary: $204,000–$289,000.
