## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Identify promising companies that should be using PlanetScale.
- Research prospects’ architecture, growth, and likely infrastructure challenges.
- Build creative outbound campaigns using tools such as Claude and Clay.
- Engage engineers and technical leaders in discovery conversations.
- Convert interest into qualified pipeline with a mapped buyer, identified problem, and compelling reason to act.
- Test outbound approaches and help determine what should be scaled.

## Requirements
- 1+ year of quota-carrying SDR or BDR experience.
- Consistent history of meeting sales targets.
- Ambitious, curious, fast-learning, and receptive to feedback.
- Uses AI to improve productivity and can demonstrate something built with Claude, Clay, or another AI tool.
- Curiosity about databases, infrastructure, and how modern AI companies are built.

## Nice to have
- Experience selling to engineers, platform teams, or infrastructure buyers.
- Experience in developer tools, infrastructure, or open source.
- Experience with Clay, Unify, Outreach, Salesloft, Gong, or Salesforce.
- Experience working with an outbound sales playbook.
- Ability to explain database fundamentals.

## Compensation
- OTE: $100,000 USD, consisting of base salary, variable compensation where applicable, benefits, and equity.
