## Job Description

## What You'll Do
- Partner with teams across the company on a wide range of legal questions, helping the business move quickly and thoughtfully
- Lead commercial legal work, including customer, vendor, and partner agreements
- Build scalable legal and compliance processes that support growth without creating unnecessary friction
- Own key healthcare regulatory and compliance areas
- Help design the legal and compliance infrastructure behind our insurance billing operations
- Support privacy and information security work tied to customer needs, diligence processes, and future financings
- Support equity and debt financings and help manage broader corporate matters
- Oversee ongoing work across employment, IP, governance, tax, and other core legal responsibilities
- Help define what a great in-house legal function looks like at Counsel Health

## What You'll Bring
- Experience early in your career at a top-tier law firm, ideally in a corporate practice
- Deep experience in healthcare, either as counsel to healthtech companies or in-house at a healthcare or healthtech business
- A practical, business-minded approach to legal work
- Strong judgment and the ability to balance risk, speed, and company priorities
- Comfort working independently and owning complex legal matters from start to finish
- Experience managing outside counsel and driving important workstreams forward without close oversight
- Excitement about building systems, processes, and a function from the ground up

**Bonus points for:**
- Experience being an early legal hire at a startup or scaling company
- Familiarity with insurance billing, healthcare regulatory frameworks, and approval processes
- Experience helping a company grow through new markets, products, or operational complexity
