## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own and exceed revenue targets by winning new major accounts and expanding existing relationships across Japan’s domestic retailers, CPG manufacturers, and general trading companies.
- Build and execute territory plans, identifying high-value opportunities across supermarket and convenience store groups, specialty retailers, food and beverage and consumer goods manufacturers, and general trading companies and their group companies.
- Lead consultative sales processes with senior executives, including CIOs, CDOs, CMOs, and heads of supply chain, merchandising, and digital transformation.
- Position AI solutions for demand forecasting, personalization, inventory optimization, trade and supply chain operations, and enhanced customer experience.
- Coordinate Product, Engineering, Applied AI, and Partnerships teams to deliver solutions integrated with existing retail and enterprise technology stacks while meeting Japan’s data privacy requirements under the APPI framework.

## Requirements
- 8+ years of enterprise sales experience in Japan, with significant exposure to retail, CPG, and/or trading company accounts.
- Experience driving adoption of emerging technologies through consultative, solutions-oriented sales.
- Track record of managing complex sales processes and securing strategic deals with large-scale retailers, consumer goods manufacturers, and trading companies.
- Ability to navigate complex stakeholder ecosystems and build consensus across merchandising, supply chain, digital, marketing, and business division teams.
- Experience managing pipeline across seasonal retail cycles, consumer-facing business decision processes, and consensus-driven procurement processes.
- Strategic and analytical approach to identifying opportunities, combined with patient, relationship-focused execution.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in ambiguous, startup-like environments.
- Passion for or experience with advanced AI systems and their safe, responsible development.
- Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.

## Nice-to-haves
- Significant experience selling to Japan’s retail, CPG, and general trading sectors.
- Experience with frontier AI or other advanced AI technologies.
- Familiarity with Japan’s APPI data privacy framework.
