## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Ship production code as part of a product engineering team, from the first pull request through deployment.
- Build user-facing experiences in **React** and **TypeScript** for caregivers and senior living communities.
- Develop backend services in **Java** powering care workflows, notifications, and customer-system integrations.
- Write tests, participate in code reviews, and iterate on feedback.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to scope, build, and deliver features.
- Learn to build and operate reliable software.

## Requirements
- Strong programming fundamentals in at least one language, such as **TypeScript**, **JavaScript**, **Java**, or **Python**.
- Evidence of building through coursework, personal projects, open source, internships, bootcamps, or self-directed work.
- Familiarity with web fundamentals, including **APIs**, **HTTP**, and **databases**.
- Curiosity, initiative, willingness to learn quickly, and strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Interest in building technology that serves overlooked communities.

## Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with **React**, **Node.js**, or a **JVM language**.
- Exposure to **SQL** or other databases.
- Experience with AI development tools such as **Cursor**, **Claude**, or **GitHub Copilot**, with the judgment to review generated code.
- A project to demonstrate.
- Interest in healthcare, aging, or mission-driven technology.

## Compensation & Benefits
- **$50/hour**.
