## Job Description

## Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain scalable data models using **dbt** and **SQL** for financial reporting and near-real-time operational metrics.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data modeling, development, testing, monitoring, data quality, integrity, and discoverability.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, customer success, and marketing stakeholders to define requirements and deliver reliable data products.
- Create repeatable patterns for integrating data models with BI tools and reverse ETL processes.
- Own development quality through change management, source control, code reviews, and data monitoring.
- Identify and implement improvements to data warehouse performance and ETL efficiency.

## Requirements

- **4+ years** of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering, with a strong focus on transformation in ELT.
- Experience owning data products end-to-end and applying analytics and data engineering best practices.
- Ability to work with ambiguity, define requirements with stakeholders, and take ownership with minimal oversight.
- Expert-level **SQL** and **dbt** skills for complex queries and data transformations.
- Proficiency in **Python** for transformations beyond SQL.
- Hands-on experience optimizing queries across OLTP and OLAP systems, such as **Postgres** and **Iceberg**.
- Proficiency with semantic-layer modeling, such as **Cube** or the **dbt Semantic Layer**.
- Experience owning **CI/CD** workflows and establishing standards for version control and code review, such as **Git**.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, including **GCP** or **AWS**.

## Nice to Have

- Experience with data ingestion tools such as **Airbyte**.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as **Airflow**.
- Brokerage operations experience or an interest in financial markets and financial-data modeling.
