## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end hardware engineering development for an automated design engine product.
- Expand and refine capabilities that use AI to automate engineering processes and produce design deliverables for large-scale construction projects.
- Apply multidisciplinary engineering expertise across mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, robotics, aerospace, or related domains.
- Analyze technical trade-offs across interacting engineering disciplines and prioritize high-impact bottlenecks.
- Build and test engineering solutions hands-on, with detailed attention to implementation.
- Translate engineering knowledge into scalable simulation, calculation, analysis, and other software tools, using AI coding agents as needed.

## Requirements
- End-to-end engineering ownership within multidisciplinary products such as launch vehicles, motorsports systems, robotics, or aerospace systems.
- Broad technical understanding across multiple engineering domains, with deep expertise in one or two areas.
- Strong first-principles thinking and evidence of creating substantial improvements over conventional approaches.
- Ability to prioritize impact, identify bottlenecks, and solve the most important problems.
- Hands-on building and execution; this role is not focused on managing or organizing others' work.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with strong ownership.
- Alignment with the mission of improving construction and infrastructure through technology.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience building simulation, calculation, analysis, or other engineering software tools or applications.
- Software development experience, including use of AI coding agents.

## Work arrangement
- In-person in San Francisco, California, five days per week.
