## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Design, build, and implement software solutions for connected retail store technologies at scale.
- Develop web applications and AI systems using large language models (LLMs), computer vision, and multimodal technologies for loss prevention, verification, and catalog management.
- Architect data pipelines and reverse ETL systems combining computer vision, catalog and POS data, real-time location data, and inventory intelligence signals.
- Standardize API contracts for pricing, coupons, and loyalty systems across retailer platforms.
- Lead the architecture of backend systems and distributed infrastructure processing high data volumes and serving millions of customers.
- Build frameworks and internal portals for integration testing, unified logging, and query-based debugging.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to unify development practices and improve customer shopping experiences.

## Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or foreign equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in the offered role or a related role.
- 5 years of experience with Java, Ruby, Kotlin, or similar backend programming languages.
- 5 years of experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, or frontend programming languages.
- 5 years of experience with advanced AI systems, including LLMs, computer vision, and multimodal technologies.
- 5 years of experience designing resilient backend systems and distributed infrastructure using caching, retry logic, asynchronous workflows, and platforms such as Temporal.
- 5 years of experience with backend APIs.
- 5 years of experience architecting data pipelines and ETL systems for real-time data processing.
- 5 years of experience with monitoring and observability tools.

## Compensation
- Base pay: $230,000–$255,000 USD, dependent on permanent work location.
- Eligible for a new-hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
- Benefits are provided according to the applicable work location.
