Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and operation of cloud-native services and platform capabilities with guidance from senior engineers.
- Write maintainable code primarily in Java or Python and participate in peer design and code reviews.
- Implement well-defined features and resolve assigned bugs, technical debt, and security fixes.
- Build unit, functional, and integration tests for robust, resilient products.
- Learn and apply Kubernetes, container, cloud, networking, and distributed-systems concepts.
- Participate in the software development lifecycle, including requirements clarification, delivery, deployment, observability, and production support.
- Communicate progress, questions, and risks clearly and collaborate with engineering and product management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Foundational programming experience in Java, Python, or a comparable modern language through coursework, internships, co-ops, projects, or professional work.
- Understanding of software engineering concepts, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software testing.
- Ability to apply basic problem-solving techniques, follow established guidelines, and learn professional concepts.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Curiosity, sound problem-solving, continuous learning, and interest in software development and cybersecurity.
Nice-to-haves
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud at the API or programming level.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, Spring or similar ecosystems, Docker, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Coursework, internship, co-op, or project experience with distributed systems, cloud services, networking, or security controls.
- Familiarity with common software design patterns and developer testing practices.
Compensation
- Annual salary: $122,000–$140,000
