## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Process, prepare, and reconcile US and international payroll, including variable compensation, off-cycle payroll, terminations, and ad-hoc payments.
- Work with third-party vendors, including Workday and Crowe, to create payroll cases and process adjustments.
- Process and reconcile benefits contributions for HSA, DSA, FSA, and commuter benefits.
- Monitor time and attendance for non-exempt employees in the US, Canada, UK, and Switzerland.
- Prepare and record payroll journal entries, departmental coding, and period-end accruals.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of payroll-related general ledger accounts and resolve variances.
- Register new state, SUI, and local payroll tax jurisdictions in payroll systems.
- Support external audits, year-end W-2 reconciliation, and reporting.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
- Assist employees and managers with payroll questions and issues.
- Support integrations between People and payroll systems.
- Partner with People Operations, Finance, Treasury, and other teams on process improvements.
- Maintain complete and organized payroll records.

## Requirements
- 6+ years of direct payroll experience processing US multi-state and Canadian payroll.
- HRIS experience required; Workday preferred.
- Experience with accounting, tax, and finance concepts related to payroll.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, Microsoft Word, and Google Sheets.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of automation and process improvement for scalable operations.

## Nice to Have
- NetSuite experience.
- Experience with stock-payroll transactions.

## Compensation
- California target base salary range: **$110,500–$139,750 USD**.
