## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Rearchitect the billing pipeline into a self-serve platform with reusable primitives and components for launching pricing models.
- Design and implement usage-based and token-based pricing infrastructure in Python and Go.
- Build abstractions and shared components that reduce the complexity of shipping new pricing SKUs.
- Implement audit logging, usage tracking, and metering pipelines focused on billing accuracy.
- Integrate with billing and payment platforms such as Metronome, Orb, and Stripe.
- Own billing reconciliation, deduplication, proration, disputes, credits, and other invoicing edge cases.
- Partner with product managers and engineering teams to define the pricing infrastructure roadmap.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented backend code.

## Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with Python or Go; experience with both is preferred.
- Hands-on experience building or scaling usage-based, subscription, or consumption billing infrastructure.
- Experience with metering, invoicing, or pricing-model logic.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, APIs, and modern distributed backend infrastructure.
- Strong ownership and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment.

## Nice to Have
- Experience with token-based or usage-based cost tracking, especially at LLM or API-first companies.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range: $175,000-$240,000.
- Base salary, variable compensation for relevant roles, equity, benefits, and perks.
