## Job Description

## Responsibilities

### Engineered Systems Installation and Fabrication
- Install, assemble, modify, and support engineered process equipment, skids, fixtures, piping, tubing, valves, fittings, brackets, and mechanical assemblies.
- Perform hands-on fabrication and modification using shop tools, machining or fabrication methods, and approved work practices.
- Support equipment layout, fit-up, alignment, anchoring, utility connections, and field changes during installations and upgrades.
- Read and work from drawings, schematics, P&IDs, equipment manuals, bills of material, and engineering instructions.

### Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on process equipment and supporting systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic, electrical, instrumentation, and process-related equipment issues.
- Support furnaces, gas delivery systems, valves, regulators, pressure-control components, process skids, and manufacturing equipment.
- Identify root causes of recurring failures and support corrective actions that improve reliability and reduce downtime.

### Process Systems and Instrumentation
- Install, inspect, adjust, and support pressure, temperature, flow, and other process measurement devices.
- Assist with calibration, functional checks, leak checks, system verification, and basic loop or control troubleshooting.
- Support chemical and gas handling systems, furnaces, thermal-processing equipment, pneumatic systems, and engineered process utilities.
- Work with engineering and operations to evaluate equipment performance and implement system improvements.

### Commissioning and Continuous Improvement
- Support commissioning, acceptance testing, qualification, decommissioning, and return-to-service activities.
- Execute test plans, checklists, equipment verifications, and system walkdowns under engineering direction.
- Develop and use precision measurement methods, gauges, fixtures, and go/no-go tools where appropriate.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, process improvements, reliability initiatives, and design-for-maintainability improvements.

### Documentation and Safety
- Create and maintain maintenance records, procedures, work instructions, equipment documentation, and field-change records.
- Document troubleshooting results, repairs, modifications, measurements, and as-found/as-left equipment conditions.
- Perform work in accordance with site safety, radiological, environmental, quality, and configuration-control requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, EH&S, radiological controls, and vendors.

## Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining, installing, fabricating, or troubleshooting industrial process equipment in a technically demanding environment.
- Hands-on experience with some combination of furnaces, gas or chemical delivery, pneumatics, instrumentation, process piping or tubing, mechanical assemblies, and industrial utilities.
- Ability to diagnose equipment failures, perform root-cause troubleshooting, and complete repairs or modifications with limited supervision.
- Experience reading drawings, schematics, P&IDs, equipment manuals, technical procedures, and equipment documentation.
- Experience with fabrication and field modifications involving tubing or piping, valves, fittings, brackets, fixtures, sheet metal, plumbing, or similar mechanical work.
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools, calibration practices, metrology, and equipment verification methods.
- Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, upgrades, or decommissioning activities.

## Nice-to-Haves

- Associate degree, technical diploma, apprenticeship, or trade certification in electromechanical technology, industrial maintenance, instrumentation, mechanical systems, fabrication, or a related field.
- Experience with uranium processing, nuclear fuel fabrication, chemical vapor processing or coating, radiological work, or controlled nuclear manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with PLC/HMI interfaces, automated equipment, welding, brazing, machining, CAD, or 3D printing.
