## Job Description

## What you'll do

- Architect "golden paths"
- Build and maintain core shared libraries, SDKs, and code-generation tools (gRPC, OpenAPI)
- Abstract away complexity so product teams can ship features faster and safer

- Design and optimize cloud infrastructure
- Take ownership of AWS ecosystem (ECS, RDS, MSK, etc.)
- Design architectures and debug production performance, tune database parameters, automate toil

- Treat the platform as the product
- Embed with product teams to understand friction points
- Champion intuitive and helpful tools

- Elevate observability
- Debug distributed system failures
- Improve alerting strategy and teach troubleshooting

- Be a mentor and technical leader
- Drive technical standards, document patterns, write guides, present, mentor

## Ideal Candidate Profile

**Deep expertise in backend programming**
- Significant experience building high-performance backend services or libraries
- Write readable, importable code

**Cloud fluency**
- Architected and managed production workloads on AWS or other clouds
- Experience with ECS, RDS, Lambda, data streaming services
- Understand cost, performance, complexity trade-offs

**A DevEx mindset**
- History of building developer tools
- Write clear, accessible documentation

## Compensation
- Base salary: $250K to $325K
- Equity: aggressive initial grant + annual performance-based bonuses
