## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead a team building and managing scalable, resilient, and observable systems for authentication and authorization
- Drive projects that impact security and productivity for all Stripe employees
- Mentor and grow engineering talent while fostering a culture of continuous learning
- Align team goals with broader organizational objectives and security vision
- Balance technical debt reduction with feature development and operational excellence
- Influence across teams and socialize security best practices

## Requirements
- Proven track record of building and managing scalable, resilient, and observable systems
- Strong technical background in engineering leadership
- Excellence building high-availability infrastructure
- Ability to lead large technical projects with internal and external dependencies
- Ability to mentor and grow engineering talent
- Strategic thinking to align team goals with broader organizational objectives
- Strong communication skills

## Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in authentication and authorization primitives
- Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) strategies and identity federation (e.g., Shibboleth, Google SSO)
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as SOX and PCI
