> Build and operate data-powered product platforms and infrastructure at Notion. Work across the stack with Product, Data Science, and AI teams to deliver scalable internal tools and systems.

## Job Description

## What You'll Achieve
- Own and play a pivotal role in the development of systems, tools and infrastructure that enable data and data systems powered product use-cases.
- Work cross-functionally with engineers and partners from the Product, Data Science, Data Engineering and AI teams to deliver short- and long-term impact.
- Work on all levels of the stack including infrastructure, libraries and product code as needed to successfully build and deliver internal platforms that provide high leverage to multiple product teams.
- Be responsible for monitoring and operating systems in production. Understand systems deeply, optimize performance and evolve critical production systems with minimal user disruption.

## Skills You'll Need to Bring
- Curiosity in working across the stack: enjoy understanding systems end-to-end—from product surfaces to infrastructure and data flows—and improving them with a hands-on, learn-by-doing mindset.
- Data-driven approach to building & improving systems: use metrics, traces, logs, and experiments to diagnose issues, validate hypotheses, and prioritize the fixes that deliver the most impact.
- A knack for ergonomic developer & agentic tooling: build interfaces that are intuitive and hard to misuse—thoughtful APIs, clear docs, and extensible patterns that help other engineers move faster.
- Pragmatic and business-oriented: care about the business impact of what you're building, and prioritize projects accordingly. Understand the balance between craft, speed, and the bottom line.
- Team player: understand work is better, together. Enjoy collaborating cross-functionally to accomplish shared goals, and care about learning, growing, and helping others to do the same.

## Nice to Haves
- Past experience working full-stack in Typescript and node.js ecosystem.
- Worked on data or infrastructure-focused engineering teams, particularly ones that own a wide swath of software platforms (hosted or built in-house).
- Experienced the challenges of scaling and re-architecting event-based platforms and infrastructure through orders of magnitude of growth and scaling data volume.
