## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Define and evolve free and paid user experiences across monetization surfaces in the Duolingo language app.
- Shape the monetization product roadmap and product development as a design leader.
- Partner with engineers and product managers on long-term strategy and short-term product tactics.
- Collaborate with designers and artists to expand the Duolingo design language.
- Develop both broad concepts and narrowly defined tactical features.
- Craft complete experiences spanning copy, animation, and business impact.

## Requirements
- Online portfolio with consumer mobile app or web design samples; portfolio submission is mandatory.
- Experience designing for a consumer application, product, or software role.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to design excellence.
- Ability to explain work, process, and decisions, and incorporate feedback.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience designing for monetization, growth, or subscription-based products.
- Experience working in a strong experimentation culture with iterative improvement.
- Interest in developing design talent and improving design craft.

## Compensation
- Base salary range: **$200,000–$300,000 USD**.
- Equity compensation supplements base salary.
