## Job Description

## What You'll Do
- Own system design on **GCP** (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery), including service boundaries, schemas, and reliability trade-offs.
- Lead development of event-driven data pipelines using **Airflow, Spark, ETL**, and Big Data tooling.
- Drive AI platform integration using open-source LLMs, embeddings, and speech models; define prompt optimization and evaluation strategies (e.g., LangFuse).
- Champion observability and operational excellence across ingestion, QA, and distributed workflows—especially for call transcripts and EHR data (FHIR/Medplum).
- Act as a **player-coach**: contribute code to critical paths while leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and Clinical Ops to translate complex technical constraints into clear execution paths.

## Who You Are

### Required Qualifications
- **12+ years** of software engineering experience; **5+ years** as a Tech Lead or project lead.
- Staff-level scope or equivalent impact.
- Expert-level proficiency in **Go, Python, or TypeScript/Node**, with strong code review skills.
- Deep experience with **distributed systems**, containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Run), and event-driven architectures.
- Strong working knowledge of **GCP networking and data services**.

### Preferred
- Hands-on experience with open-source LLM hosting (vLLM, Ollama) and modern RAG architectures.
- Background in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2) or healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7).
- Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable authoring RFCs and technical strategy docs.
