## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of Replit’s Product Design organization, ensuring work is aligned, prioritized, and delivered to a high standard.
- Manage, mentor, and develop product designers.
- Shape and elevate the customer journey.
- Collaborate with designers through ideation, whiteboarding, design reviews, and complex product and interaction challenges.
- Surface context and insights across active initiatives to support effective design critique and product decisions.
- Improve product design quality through feedback, craft, and design judgment.
- Evolve design practices, workflows, and team culture.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard product design talent.

## Requirements
- Significant experience leading product design teams at high-growth technology companies.
- Experience balancing people leadership with hands-on product design contribution.
- Portfolio demonstrating product design craft, interaction design, product thinking, and systems thinking.
- Experience partnering with Product and Engineering to deliver technically sophisticated products.
- Experience leading cross-functional product development in fast-moving environments.
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong design taste, sound judgment, and a bias toward action.
- Experience simplifying complex technical products into approachable user experiences.

## Nice to Have
- Experience designing developer tools, technical products, or software creation platforms.
- Experience building AI-powered products or AI-native workflows.
- Coding experience or strong technical curiosity.
- Experience growing design teams in startup or scale-up environments.
- Active use of AI throughout the design process.
