> Counsel will lead energy agreements and regulatory matters supporting Fluidstack’s large-scale data center expansion. The role requires an actively licensed attorney with substantial experience negotiating power, utility, generation, or related infrastructure agreements.

## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Structure, draft, and negotiate energy agreements supporting data center buildouts, including power purchase agreements, interconnection and transmission agreements, on-site and behind-the-meter generation agreements, and utility infrastructure and services agreements.
- Advise on energy regulatory matters involving FERC, state public utility commissions, and organized markets including ERCOT, PJM, MISO, and SPP.
- Shape engagement with utilities and regulators as large-scale data center loads come online.
- Lead complex negotiations with sophisticated counterparties while balancing legal risk and business speed.
- Manage outside counsel across multiple disciplines, including scope, quality, and spend.
- Coordinate transactions with energy, site selection, development, and delivery teams.
- Advise business leaders on legal and commercial issues and provide practical solutions.

## Requirements
- Active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction and ability to meet admission requirements where practicing.
- Experience independently structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial agreements as lead attorney.
- Experience with agreements related to powering data centers, such as power purchase agreements, energy supply and hedging, interconnection and transmission, generation development, and utility infrastructure and services agreements.
- Demonstrated commercially pragmatic judgment in ambiguous, high-stakes situations.
- Experience overseeing outside counsel across multiple disciplines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex legal issues into executive decisions and next steps.

## Nice-to-haves
- Combination of law firm and in-house experience.
- Experience using AI to improve legal work and efficiency.
- In-house experience at a data center developer, cloud company, utility, or independent power producer.
