## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Design, integrate, and validate hardware for autonomous vehicles
- Build schedules for new hardware initiatives
- Create engineering specifications and coordinate development work on various vehicle subsystems
- Develop assembly and test procedures
- Work with contract manufacturers to ensure proper delivery of components
- Lead design reviews
- Design parts for manufacturing and BOM creation
- Manage engineering changes for updates to existing vehicles
- Work with Hardware team to ensure safety through all stages of development

## Qualifications
- **Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical Engineering**
- **5+ years relevant industry experience** designing products for production
- Familiarity with **GD&T** and generation of engineering drawings and documentation
- Familiarity with **CAD Software** (**Solidworks**, **Fusion 360**, **NX**)
- Experience designing both **sheet metal** and **machined parts**
- Experience with designing for outdoor or harsh environments (particulate ingress, water ingress, UV exposure, shock and vibe, high temp, etc)
- Basic hand tool knowledge and experience
- Excellent communication skills

## Preferred
- Experience with **plastic injection molding**
- Passionate about AI, robotics, and self-driving cars
- Startup work experience
- Robotics and logistics experience a plus
- Familiarity with a machine shop
- Familiarity with automotive systems
