## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own Forterra’s contracts function, setting strategy, standards, and scalable processes.
- Structure and execute government awards and expand existing contracts.
- Advise Business Development, Proposal, and Engineering teams on acquisition strategy, contract vehicles, and instruments.
- Manage relationships with contracting officers, agreements officers, and government procurement offices.
- Lead the acquisition lifecycle, including proposal and pricing-volume review, negotiations, award administration, performance, closeout, and compliance.
- Negotiate terms, data rights, and intellectual property; resolve issues and requests for equitable adjustment; identify risks and mitigations.
- Build and manage the subcontract and teaming portfolio, including NDAs, teaming agreements, subcontracts, and flow-downs.
- Represent Contracts with vendors, primes, partners, engineers, executives, and customers.
- Build systems, templates, and processes to scale the contracts function.

## Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of federal contracting or acquisition experience in government, industry, or both.
- Command of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), including contract types, competitive procedures, and cost and price analysis.
- Working knowledge of government data rights and intellectual property under DFARS 252.227, with the ability to negotiate them.
- Experience independently leading negotiations and administering awards through performance and closeout.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

## Preferred Qualifications
- Government-side acquisition experience, particularly as a contracting or agreements officer with a warrant.
- Experience with Other Transactions under 10 U.S.C. 4021 and 4022 and Commercial Solutions Openings.
- Experience at a defense innovation organization such as DIU, AFWERX, ONR, DARPA, or a service innovation unit.
- DAWIA certification in Contracting or Program Management.
- Graduate degree in contract management, acquisition, business, or law.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience with non-traditional defense contractors and commercial technology companies, including ATO and FCL processes.
- Experience building or scaling a contracts function at a high-growth company.

## Compensation
- Salary range: $180,000–$220,000 USD annually.
- Equity may be included as part of the overall compensation package.
