## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in distributed systems, data technologies, and software engineering.
- Architect and implement scalable data systems, storage solutions, and processing frameworks.
- Drive technical innovation and research into emerging data technologies and best practices.
- Mentor and coach engineers, fostering technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.

## Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software development experience focused on data infrastructure.
- Experience architecting and delivering complex, large-scale data projects.
- Expertise in Kafka, ClickHouse, Spark, and distributed computing systems.
- Experience orchestrating, scaling, and managing containerized applications in production with Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm.
- Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale data platforms on AWS.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Bash, and Go.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence technical roadmaps and align cross-functional teams.
- Leadership experience mentoring and developing engineers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver high-impact results.

## Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of authorization and authentication systems.
- Networking and network security knowledge.
- Deep ClickHouse expertise, including architecting, tuning, and operating ClickHouse at scale.

## Compensation and benefits
- Estimated annual pay range of $171,120-$213,900 for roles based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, or Washington, D.C.
- May be eligible for equity and a corporate bonus plan.
- Benefits include health insurance, a 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, and paid parental leave.
- Occasional travel may be required for project or team meetings.
