## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own the design system end to end, including design tokens, component libraries, documentation, and production code components across two converging product surfaces.
- Lead the migration of the component architecture to a modern stack using shadcn/ui and Storybook, partnering with engineering to scope and ship production-quality work.
- Define design-system governance, including versioning, contribution models, release processes, and design-to-engineering handoff criteria.
- Establish an AI-forward design practice with patterns, guidelines, and tooling for agentic product surfaces.
- Ship product experiences using AI-forward design patterns.
- Prototype in the production stack and review component implementations.
- Raise craft standards through critique, pairing, and influence across a senior design team.
- Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code, reviewing and validating generated output before release.

## Requirements
- 12+ years of product design experience, including several years owning a design system at scale.
- Experience with design tokens, component architecture, and design-system governance.
- Fluency working in TypeScript and React component codebases and Storybook.
- Experience leading a production design-system migration or re-platform, including prioritizing shipped and deferred work.
- Experience designing AI-driven or agentic product experiences.
- Professional experience using AI-assisted tools, including reviewing and validating generated output.
- Ability to lead through influence in flat or ambiguous organizations and define operating models.

## Nice-to-haves
- Enterprise-scale framework migration experience for a design system.
- Contributions to open-source design systems or component libraries, with public work available.
- Experience designing for developer tools, data science, or technical audiences.
- Experience building design tooling or automation, including internal tools, Figma plugins, or AI-assisted design workflows.
- Experience working across converging or multi-product platforms.
- A well-developed perspective on how AI is reshaping design practice through hands-on agentic-experience work.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $146,500–$216,000.
