## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Evaluate, negotiate, and execute acquisitions and strategic partnerships with senior internal stakeholders.
- Develop investment theses and strategic rationales for potential acquisitions.
- Build target financial models covering forecast scenarios, synergies, integration costs, sensitivity analysis, and key assumptions.
- Coach and develop junior team members on financial modeling and deal processes.
- Apply knowledge of the company and operating environment to inform deal evaluation.
- Partner on integration plans and success criteria for transactions.
- Drive post-close evaluations against defined success criteria.
- Build and maintain a prioritized pipeline of external targets.
- Monitor the pet industry ecosystem and emerging companies.
- Establish relationships with founders, executives, and other decision-makers.

## Requirements
- 10+ years of corporate development and/or M&A experience, in-house or in investment banking/advisory.
- Proven ability to articulate the strategic value of potential transactions.
- Strong financial modeling skills, including forecasting, synergy estimation, and sensitivity analysis.
- Ability to identify, articulate, and pressure-test financial and strategic assumptions.
- Project and stakeholder management experience across sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, negotiation, integration, and retrospective analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build trusted internal and external relationships.
- Ability to understand individual companies and their position within an industry ecosystem.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

## Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the technology or pet sectors.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.

- Greater Seattle area first-year salary range: $158,513–$210,822, plus a 15% bonus.
