## Job Description

## Responsibilities

- Define and build Databricks’ global Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) function, including its strategy, charter, roadmap, operating model, AI tooling, workflows, team, and metrics.
- Increase brand visibility and citation share across AI answer engines and search experiences, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews, and traditional search.
- Grow qualified organic and AI-referred traffic, conversions, and influenced pipeline by aligning GEO strategy and experimentation with business goals.
- Establish a GEO experimentation and measurement program covering content structure, schema, semantic depth, and technical changes.
- Improve the technical health and AI crawlability of high-value pages in partnership with Web, Engineering, and Marketing Systems.
- Embed GEO standards and playbooks across marketing and product teams so content is structured for AI citation and answer-focused discovery.
- Build and lead a high-performing GEO team, including hiring, coaching, mentorship, role definition, and development paths.
- Create executive-ready reporting and insights for senior stakeholders.
- Work cross-functionally with web engineering, marketing systems, data and analytics, brand, content, product marketing, and demand generation.

## Requirements

- 10+ years of experience in technical search, discovery, or adjacent domains, including ownership of systems driving organic or AI-powered discovery in a high-growth environment.
- Deep technical knowledge of web architecture, crawling and indexing, structured data and schema, Core Web Vitals, and log or crawl analysis.
- Experience partnering directly with engineers to ship technical changes at scale.
- Proven ability to design and run experimentation programs that generate measurable improvements in visibility, traffic, and downstream business KPIs.
- Experience building a function from zero to one, including its charter, roadmap, operating model, and metrics.
- Experience hiring, managing, mentoring, and developing high-performing individual contributors.
- Strong analytical skills and hands-on experience with data and measurement tooling.
- Ability to connect AI and search performance to business impact and communicate executive-ready insights.
- Experience operating in complex, cross-functional environments and driving alignment without formal authority.
- Clear, concise written communication, particularly for technical specifications, experiment design documents, and executive updates.
