> The Sales Engineer partners with commercial and mid-market sales teams to demonstrate Datadog’s observability platform, lead technical evaluations, resolve trial issues, and close complex opportunities. The role requires strong communication, programming or scripting experience, and at least five years in IT.

## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Partner with the Sales team to articulate Datadog’s value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
- Own technical customer engagement during trials, communicate product value, and resolve identified issues or concerns.
- Technically close complex opportunities using competitive knowledge, technical skills, and credibility.
- Deliver product and technical briefings and presentations to prospective clients.
- Maintain accurate CRM notes and feedback regarding customer wins and losses.
- Communicate with customers and Datadog business and technical teams about product feedback and the competitive landscape.
- Travel by auto, train, or air up to 25% of the time.

## Requirements
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to understand and articulate business benefits and technical advantages.
- Experience programming or scripting with technologies such as Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.js, PHP, or .NET.
- Minimum of 3 years in Sales Engineering, Software Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Security Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years in the IT industry.
- Ability to educate customers about observability risks and build and execute evaluation plans.
