## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery for strategic opportunities and map business goals to measurable technical success criteria.
- Design, scope, and execute proofs of concept (POCs), including datasets, metrics, and timelines.
- Build lightweight prototypes, sample integrations, and demos using Deepgram SDKs and APIs.
- Advise on architectures for accuracy, latency, scalability, cost, cloud, self-hosted, hybrid, and data residency needs.
- Address APAC security and compliance requirements, including Singapore PDPA, Japan APPI, Korea PIPA, Australia’s Privacy Act, and India’s DPDP Act.
- Triage and debug evaluation issues with Product, Engineering, and Support.
- Create reusable samples, reference architectures, runbooks, and field guides.
- Partner with Solutions Architects and Support through post-sale continuity and expansion phases.
- Enable Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, and partners through positioning, demos, and technical validation.
- Travel within the region for key customer milestones, estimated at 10–20%.

## First 90 Days
- Ramp on Deepgram’s products, APIs, SDKs, evaluation methodology, and security review materials.
- Shadow discovery and POC calls across APAC time zones.
- Triage low-risk tickets, then progress to pre-sales escalations.
- Publish an internal field guide on an APAC pre-sales topic.
- Own evaluations, technical deal reviews, live demos, architecture workshops, and reusable technical assets.

## Minimum Qualifications
- 5 or more years in Solutions Engineering or a similar customer-facing technical pre-sales role.
- Professional software engineering experience in at least one language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Rust.
- Experience with modern cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, networking fundamentals, and secure API design.
- Proven experience leading enterprise customer POCs and earning the technical win.
- Clear written and verbal communication with technical and executive audiences.

## Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with speech recognition, text-to-speech, voice quality analysis, or AI agents orchestrating LLMs.
- Familiarity with telephony and real-time media concepts such as SIP, WebRTC, streaming, and WebSocket integrations.
- Experience with self-hosted and hybrid deployments, Helm-based installations, and production observability.
- Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and data residency in APAC enterprise reviews.
- Fluency in an additional Asian language such as Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, or Hindi.
