## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Process and review complex union payrolls accurately, compliantly, and within stated processing timelines and SLAs.
- Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements, side letters, union rules, and working conditions across multiple production types.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex payroll scenarios and determine when formal interpretation is needed from Labor Relations or other partners.
- Manually review and validate calculations, identify discrepancies, perform corrections or overrides, and document the rationale.
- Maintain clear system notes covering payroll status, decisions, and next steps.
- Communicate with customers and internal partners to resolve payroll issues.
- Collaborate with Labor Relations, Customer Success, Payroll Operations, Tax Operations, Product, Engineering, and other teams.
- Mentor Union Paymasters and model effective documentation and communication practices.
- Identify recurring issues, process gaps, and tooling opportunities; recommend and implement improvements.
- Create and maintain SOPs and knowledge documentation.
- Meet or exceed productivity, accuracy, timeliness, and case-resolution expectations.

## Requirements
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience in a multi-union environment.
- Advanced ability to interpret and apply union rules, working conditions, and collective bargaining agreements in production payroll.
- Ability to independently resolve complex payroll scenarios and escalate appropriately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure across multiple payrolls, deadlines, and priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including customer-facing and cross-functional communication.
- Strong documentation skills, including payroll notes, SOPs, knowledge sharing, and decision rationale.
- Basic proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Schedule flexibility to accommodate workload and client needs.

## Nice-to-Haves
- Knowledge of entertainment union contracts, including SAG-AFTRA, DGA, IATSE, and Teamsters.
- Experience mentoring peers, improving workflows, or raising operational quality standards.
- Experience working in a scaling operations environment with evolving tools and processes.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000–$146,000 USD annually.
- Unlimited paid time off.
