## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate lending agreements independently from first draft through signature.
- Serve as the primary legal partner to account executives and customer success, improving commercial request turnaround time and deal velocity.
- Design AI-assisted workflow automation, internal playbooks, and contract review tooling to increase Legal throughput.
- Establish repeatable workflows between Legal and Sales, Customer Success, Compliance, Finance, Operations, and Product.
- Extend legal support to the emerging commerce product as the business grows.

## Requirements
- At least three years of post-JD experience in commercial law within the consumer finance industry.
- Proficiency drafting, reviewing, and independently negotiating a variety of commercial agreements.
- Deep familiarity with the regulatory and commercial landscape for consumer financial products.
- Experience building systems and processes in an early-stage environment.
- Interest in building AI-assisted legal tools and workflows.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong judgment advising business partners on nuanced and complex issues.
- Assertive, proactive ownership mentality and comfort working cross-functionally.

## Nice-to-haves
- In-house experience at a fintech, bank, or consumer finance company.
- Knowledge of open banking, federal and state privacy laws, GLBA, FCRA, payments laws, EFTA, and Nacha.
- Experience building or deploying contract automation or AI-assisted legal tooling.

- Annual US base salary: **$150,000–$200,000**, commensurate with experience, location, and qualifications.
