## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Define technical direction and architecture for edge software spanning edge compute, imaging, sensor integration, and mission systems.
- Lead complex, cross-team technical initiatives and resolve ambiguous, cross-cutting engineering problems.
- Establish reusable platform capabilities, interfaces, standards, and engineering practices.
- Mentor senior engineers and develop technical leaders.
- Design, develop, test, maintain, profile, and debug production C++ software for Linux-based edge systems.
- Build user-space applications for NVIDIA Jetson, ARM64, and other edge compute platforms.
- Integrate cameras and sensors, including RGB, NIR, thermal cameras, GPS, and IMU, using operating-system APIs, middleware, vendor SDKs, and hardware-facing interfaces.
- Develop calibration, synchronization, data capture, observability, diagnostics, inspection, configuration, and automated-testing tools.
- Optimize latency, throughput, reliability, power utilization, and thermal performance on constrained edge platforms.
- Diagnose issues across application software, Linux, networking, hardware interfaces, timing, deployment, and system integration.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, autonomy, AI, product, program, and test teams.

## Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Extensive professional experience developing modern C++ software for Linux.
- Experience building user-space applications interfacing with cameras, sensors, networking, GPUs, storage, or other hardware.
- Deep practical experience developing, profiling, and debugging Linux software.
- Experience deploying complex C++ software to Linux-based edge platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson or comparable ARM64 systems.
- Strong fundamentals in concurrency, interface design, memory management, data structures, algorithms, testing, and version control.
- Experience diagnosing issues across software, Linux, networking, timing, hardware integration, and deployment boundaries.
- Experience owning complex technical work from incomplete requirements through deployment and support.
- Demonstrated architectural leadership, technical influence across teams, and cross-organizational initiative leadership.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and developing technical leaders.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

## Nice-to-haves
- Runtime-critical, multithreaded, or performance-sensitive C++ software.
- High-throughput imaging or sensor-processing pipelines.
- Camera integration, ISP tuning, GStreamer, FFmpeg, or OpenCV.
- Hardware-accelerated processing, NVIDIA Jetson, CUDA, GPU computing, embedded AI accelerators, or accelerated video processing.
