> Build and operationalize Anthropic’s global security incident-response program, including policies, severity frameworks, playbooks, on-call coverage, training, and continuous improvement. The role requires 8+ years in security or crisis operations, Incident Commander experience, strong policy-writing skills, and 24/7 on-call availability.

## Job Description

## Responsibilities

- Author the GSOC plan and policy, including documented GSOC functions, an incident severity matrix, communication templates, and response-time service level agreements.
- Design global incident- and event-specific response protocols and produce corresponding GSOC operator and business-facing playbooks.
- Define and obtain approval for incident-response tooling, communication channels, and the separate path for information-only employee advisories.
- Partner with Legal, Communications, HR, and Employee Relations to align notification thresholds and obligations before incidents occur.
- Design and formalize a scalable on-call rotation and call tree so Incident Commander coverage does not depend on one person's availability.
- Drive policy socialization and secure senior leadership approval.
- Build and deliver training and rollout programs that put the policy into practice.
- Assist with incident response, coordinate handoffs to the appropriate Incident Commander as incidents escalate, and serve as the standing liaison between GSOC and Crisis Management.
- Partner with Crisis Management on GSOC service design.
- Run after-action reviews and tabletop exercises, incorporating findings into policy.
- Measure adherence to the standard and report on performance.

## Requirements

- 8+ years of professional experience in GSOCs, security operations, emergency or crisis management, business continuity, incident command, or a closely related discipline.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience authoring security, safety, or emergency-response policy that was formally approved and adopted by an organization.
- Experience serving as an Incident Commander or in an equivalent command role during live incidents.
- Working knowledge of ISO 22320:2018 or an equivalent incident command system such as ICS/NIMS.
- Knowledge of severity or tiering frameworks and the ability to adapt one to a specific organization.
- Clear, concise writing for non-specialist audiences, with the ability to tailor content for operators, business partners, and executives.
- Ability to manage a document-heavy program on a deadline while remaining available for live incident response.
- Strong commitment to continuous process improvement and collaborative work.
- Comfort with a flexible schedule, including a 24/7 on-call rotation and after-hours response.

## Nice-to-haves

- Experience standing up a security operations center or incident-response program from an undocumented state.
- Familiarity with mass-notification, critical-communications, and incident-management platforms.
- Experience with travel-risk management and duty-of-care programs covering travelers and employees affected by natural disasters.
- Professional certifications such as CEM, CBCP, PSP, or FEMA ICS credentials.
- Specialized knowledge of risks unique to the AI sector.

## Compensation and Benefits

- Annual salary: **$180,000–$230,000 USD**.
- Staff are currently expected to work from an office at least 25% of the time under the location-based hybrid policy; some roles may require more office time.
- Visa sponsorship may be available depending on the role and candidate.
