## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Contribute to the roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs.
- Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code.
- Explain trade-offs made in technical decisions.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge.
- Build features from technical specification through execution.
- Proactively participate in resolving ongoing incidents.
- Unblock, support, communicate effectively, and obtain buy-in across teams.
- Share knowledge through brown bags and technical talks.

## Requirements
- BS/MS degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or relevant work experience.
- 3+ years of software engineering industry experience.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming.
- Experience designing, debugging, and running fault-tolerant, highly available, large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with common CI tools such as Jenkins, Buildkite, CircleCI, or TeamCity, with proficiency in at least one.
- Solid knowledge of distributed systems, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.

## Compensation and Benefits
- Expected base pay range in the Toronto area: **CAD $108,000–$135,000**.
