## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of industrial hygiene programs covering chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards.
- Develop and execute qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments, including air sampling, noise monitoring, heat-stress evaluations, ventilation assessments, and related surveys.
- Establish sampling plans and exposure profiles based on process conditions, worker activities, hazard potential, and occupational exposure limits.
- Interpret results against OSHA requirements, ACGIH TLVs, NIOSH RELs, and other applicable guidance; communicate conclusions and recommended actions.
- Maintain accurate, traceable exposure records and technical documentation.
- Partner with engineering, operations, and maintenance on equipment, process, facility, and manufacturing scale-up changes.
- Apply the hierarchy of controls and evaluate ventilation, containment, chemical handling, noise-control, administrative, work-practice, and PPE solutions.
- Provide technical input for job hazard analyses, pre-job planning, management of change, commissioning, new chemicals, and new processes.
- Provide guidance on respiratory protection, hearing conservation, hazard communication, and PPE selection.
- Support OSHA, EPA, DOE, federal, state, and local compliance activities, inspections, audits, customer reviews, and assessments.
- Prepare and review exposure assessments, technical reports, procedures, sampling records, corrective actions, and controlled records.
- Lead or support occupational exposure and health-related incident investigations and develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Deliver training on chemical safety, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, hazard communication, exposure controls, and safe work practices.
- Analyze industrial hygiene trends and data to identify recurring risks and prioritize improvements.
- Support selection, calibration, and maintenance of industrial hygiene monitoring equipment.
- Provide technical guidance across operations, engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, quality, EH&S, and radiological controls; mentor less experienced personnel.

## Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, occupational safety and health, environmental science, engineering, chemistry, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive industrial hygiene or occupational health experience.
- Experience independently planning and executing complex exposure assessments and using data to establish effective controls.
- Hands-on experience with air sampling pumps, direct-reading instruments, noise dosimeters, sound level meters, ventilation assessment tools, and other industrial hygiene instrumentation.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, ACGIH TLVs, NIOSH criteria, exposure control strategies, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and hazard communication.
- Experience evaluating chemical, particulate, noise, thermal, ventilation, ergonomic, and other occupational health hazards.
- Ability to interpret complex sampling and exposure data and translate findings into practical corrective actions.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams, communicate risk to leadership, and mentor personnel.
- Proficiency with industrial hygiene data-management tools and Microsoft Office.

## Nice-to-haves
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential or equivalent senior-level expertise.
- Experience in manufacturing, laboratory, energy, nuclear, chemical processing, or another technically regulated environment.
- Experience supporting nuclear, DOE, NRC, radiological, or other highly regulated operations.
- Experience maintaining electronic exposure records.
