Requires 12+ years of network architecture experience, 5+ years managing senior engineers, and expertise in large-scale GPU networking and cloud-native systems.

## Job Description

## Responsibilities
- Own company-wide architecture strategy connecting edge points of presence, backbone transport, data center fabrics, and SDN/cloud domains.
- Arbitrate cross-domain tradeoffs for AI/HPC workloads, including backbone capacity, data center fabric bandwidth, and SDN overlay overhead.
- Establish engineering standards, reference architectures, and design review processes; provide final sign-off on major architecture decisions and ensure production delivery.
- Define strategy for PoP design, peering, IX participation, and edge compute/caching placement.
- Define long-haul and core network strategy, including BGP, MPLS/segment routing, optical transport, and multi-region/multi-campus redundancy and failover.
- Set strategy for spine-leaf fabrics, RDMA (RoCEv2/InfiniBand) interconnects, and power/cooling-aware rack design for high-density GPU clusters.
- Direct SDN control-plane architecture, Kubernetes networking, CNI selection, network policy, multi-cluster service mesh, VPCs, load balancers, and security groups.
- Champion intent-based networking, declarative configuration, GitOps, and network source-of-truth practices.
- Lead executive-level remediation for major cross-domain outages.
- Partner with Product, Hardware, Infrastructure, and senior executives on multi-year roadmaps and company-wide planning.
- Align software and operations teams on execution while incorporating their input into design and architecture.
- Manage and develop architects, managers, and senior/staff engineers across Edge, Backbone, Data Center, and SDN/Cloud domains.

- Deep expertise across edge, backbone, data center fabric, and SDN/cloud networking.
- Strong command of SDN and cloud-native networking, including SDN controllers, Kubernetes CNIs, and network virtualization/overlays.
- Experience setting multi-year technical strategy and influencing VP- and C-level stakeholders through design documents and roadmap reviews.
- Track record of building and scaling technical organizations, including hiring and developing senior and staff-level engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

## Nice-to-Haves
- Senior leadership experience at a hyperscaler, AI cloud provider, HPC center, or large-scale colocation operator.
- Experience leading network organizations supporting multi-node GPU training infrastructure at scale.
